SAGGY haynet

The Saggy hay net is a hanging slow feeder designed to be extremely easy to use. The materials are soft and comfortable for the horse. Saggy is filled through a large opening at the back, which is closed with three buckles. The net is positioned at the bottom of the product, allowing the horse to eat it completely empty.

It is well suited for horses whose feeding needs to be restricted, or as enrichment when you want to add variety to the horse’s daily routine.

Saggy slows down hay consumption and keeps hay clean. It can be hung in a stall or outdoors in a paddock, and it holds up to 5–6 kg of hay.

If you have not used Saggy before, we recommend starting with the larger mesh size to ensure it is not too challenging for the horse. If the stem in hay is very thick, we also recommend the larger mesh size.

Saggy is made from car airbag material, which is highly durable. The net is made from seatbelt webbing, a soft material for the horse’s teeth and gums. Comfortable materials contribute positively to the eating experience.

Thanks to the quick-release fastening, Saggy is easy to detach from the stall and refill at the hay bale. Once filled, you simply click it back into place and it’s ready to use. The quick-release also enhances safety, as it can be opened easily with two fingers.

Saggy can also be hung outdoors, for example from a tree. The wide hanging strap prevents damage to the tree, unlike narrow ropes or hard chains.

The Saggy hay net is made in Finland in a workshop equipped with specialized machinery to ensure high quality. Saggy has been carefully developed, with special attention given to material selection. The design focuses on ease of use and long product lifespan. The goal has been to create a hay net that can last for years.

Saggy is easy to clean by hand using a mild detergent (such as dish soap) and a soft brush.

NOTE! Please consider safety risks, especially with shod horses, as the risk of getting caught is higher compared to barefoot horses. A horseshoe may get caught in the net, and the horse may not be able to free its leg.

The materials used in the Saggy hay net were originally designed for the automotive industry. The fabric comes from car airbags, while the net and hanging strap are made from seatbelt webbing, durable yet gentle on the horse’s teeth. The colors of the net and straps may vary depending on available materials.

The locking mechanism, familiar from vehicles, makes use quick and easy while enhancing safety. Using a single strap attachment helps reduce the risk of accidents.

• You can vary feeding by mixing fresh grass or straw with the hay.
• Change Saggy’s position in the stall or outdoors to vary the horse’s eating posture.
• Suitable for use in trailers or horse trucks (we recommend a larger mesh size for transport).
